What Is a Screen Print Transfer?

A transfer is produced by screen printing onto special carrier paper and is then applied to the textile using a heat press. This means you do not need to print directly onto the finished garment at the time the transfer is produced. You can prepare the design in advance and apply it gradually whenever needed.

Screen print transfers are especially suitable when you need to reuse the same design, print on pockets, sleeves, hoods or other areas where direct screen printing is more difficult.

For full-colour artwork, photographs, gradients or smaller quantities, DTF printing is often the better option. For larger runs of finished t-shirts, hoodies or workwear, direct screen printing may be more suitable.

Applying Screen Print Transfers
